History

Willemin-Macodel created the very first machine able to reproduce the complex shapes used in watchmaking. Since then, we have continued to develop new solutions to meet the highest demands.

2020
Extension of the production plant of about 5'000 m2. This new industrial construction is dedicated to the set-up of machines, machining tests, TechCenter as well as to the increasing demand of complete machining solutions
2019
308MT2 Excellent performance levels from a reduced footprint. Extremely compact, this machine incorporates an automatic back machining unit which handles complex parts in a single cycle. A hub of high-end technology.
2018
701S Technology Direct Measuring System. Check during production with part reference setting on the 3 main coordinates and in rotation. Objective, first part is to spec.
2017
First flexible cell with multi-machine robotization, inspection of parts using three-dimensional measurements and identification using laser engraving.
2016
308S2 Remarkable for its versatility. Watchmaker's dream. The 308S2 is incomparable for high-end machining, small prismatic workpieces, endings, finishes or engraving.
2015
508MT2 LINEAR Powerful, ergonomic and customizable. Designed for complexity. This machining center masters the most complex machining operations whilst remaining flexible. Connections, robotics, difficult materials; it does everything.
2015
New machine design. New design and a corresponding new concept for machines that are unquestionably more efficient.
2015
Robotization Integration of first poly-articulated robot. The robot offers maximum flexibility, it handles both workpieces and pallets equally well, guaranteeing excellent positioning accuracy and handling of workpieces.

Start of collaboration with Reiden Technik AG on the Chinese market.

Sales and services office opened in Italy.

701S The revolution: machining center with parallel kinematics offering incomparable precision, dynamics and surface finishes in micro-machining applications.

308S and 308B, ultra-compact machining centers facilitating machining from bar stock or raw discs offering numerous machining possibilities.
2012
Sales and services office opened in India.
2011
508MTL, first "multi-process" machining center equipped with Full direct drive technology. 408MTT, first compact bar multi-process machining center equipped with a turning turret.
2010
New 250S frontal lathe with high flexibility. Replacement of 203S and 220S 3-axis frontal lathes.
2009
All operations moved and consolidated in a new factory in Delémont over a surface area of 16,000 m2.
2008
401PA machining center for machining performed completely in 1 single cycle of "plate" type parts from small bars, rectangular blanks or discs.
2006
Multi-position pickup turret adapted on the 518MT high-capacity milling/turning machining center.
2005
Development of the new 508MT machining center, the first to offer a multi-position turret for secondary milling/turning operations.
2003
Second sales office opened in China (Xi'an). Purchase of the partner company Willemin-Machines SA.
2001
First 408MT machining center to perform milling and turning operations up to a bar diameter of Ø 36 mm.
1997
W-418B machining center, the first to work from bar stock.
1996
Sales and services office opened in USA (NY).
1994
New generation of machining centers with 5 simultaneous axes, depending on machining capacities (W-40, W-41, W-42).
1992
Sales and services office opened in China (Shanghai). Production of a 2 or 3-axis lathe with W-207 type pick-up spindle. New W-406 4-axis machining center with divider/table.
1991
W-138 multi-spindle milling machine launched. W-200 3-axes frontal lathe.
1989
Buildings extended for second time (total area of 4,500 m2).
1988
Sales and services office opened in Russia (Moscow).
1987
New W-402 machine making it possible to machine with 5 simultaneous axes.
1983
First W-400 5-axis machining center.
1982
Sales and services office opened in Germany.
1980
Diversification into medical and aeronautical sectors
1978
Production of first milling machines with numerical controls. 2D plan optical reading machines to create stamping modules and tools. Buildings extended for first time (total area of 2,000 m2).
1975
Marketing of cam copying machines and shape turning devices for the watchmaking industry. Start of partnership with Willemin-Machines SA, a legally independent entity. Macodel SA renamed Willemin-Macodel SA and relocated to Bassecourt.
1974
Macodel SA founded in Delémont with the aim of marketing machines and equipment designed for the watchmaking industry.
